The Irish people are stopping buying the lies of the mainstream media. They are walking away in droves from their daily and Sunday newspapers which were a traditional part of Irish society for generations. The people are fed up of being talked down to and lied to by an increasingly out of touch media. That includes radio and TV but in this article we will concentrate on the print media because the ABC figures highlight their demise. The Irish media can no longer hide their crumbling sales numbers because they are independently audited by the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC). Year-on-Year Sales Haemorrhage
For the last decade, print circulation across both daily and Sunday titles in Ireland has consistently dropped by an average of 5% to 10% every single year. Most of those previously Irish newspapers are now foreign owned. Newspapers that used to sell hundreds of thousands of copies daily and were highly influential are now a struggling fraction of their former size. Local and regional papers have been absolutely decimated, with many forced to close entirely and with more on the way out. Active Sales and Fake Figures
Even the sales figures that papers do claim are being regularly and systematically massaged. A massive chunk of what is claimed as “circulation” for major broadsheets isn’t people going to a shop and buying a paper. It is “bulk sales” or papers given away for free or at a massive discount in hotels, airports, and corporate offices just to massage and keep the circulation numbers looking artificially high to hoodwink advertisers. Despite that, those newspapers continue to drive away their readers in droves by lecturing, dictating and lying to the people in their vain efforts to prop up their crumbling official narrative. Meanwhile new media, podcasts and independent or citizen reporters are growing in multiples in popularity because that is the only place you will get unbiased, uncensored and un-massager truth in the news.
