And We Have the Electricity Bills to Prove It!
At last, some fantastic news for the Irish people!
After years of watching other European countries take the lead in everything from affordable housing to public transport, Ireland has finally climbed to the very top of the European rankings.
Not in healthcare. Not in housing affordability. Not in infrastructure.
ELECTRICITY PRICES!
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, we did it!
According to Eurostat’s electricity price data for the first half of 2026, Ireland has secured the number one position for the highest household electricity prices in the European Union.
A magnificent €0.3871 per kWh!
Ireland proudly charges almost six times as much as Türkiye, where electricity costs just €0.0657 per kWh, compared with Ireland’s €0.3871. Now that’s what we call an extraordinary achievement!
That’s approximately 489% more expensive.
We should be proud.
